The road between Al Khadr and route 60 is blocked. Since this is the only route allowed for the Palestinians to commute between the south (Hebron) and Bethlehem they must use the unpaved blocked road to reach the cabs waiting on either side of checkpoint.

The small village Mawahel is situated by the industrial area of Atarot. At mid 2005 the road connecting the village to Jerusalem has been blocked and the inhabitants are now required to go to Jerusalem through Qalandiya checkpoint - a tour of about 1.5 hr. by a cab. photograph shows three Palestinian youngsters caught by a patrol of Border police.
