Hebron

Life returns to normal. In Hebron the synagogue of Hazon David stands again. On the right about 100 metre away directly on the road which leads to the Hill of the fathers the army leadership meets as preparations to build another checkpoint take place. This means  that the entire area of Kapisha will en enclosed the H1 . It is not clear that the reasons for this are but both Palestinians and settlers will suffer.

We came to the kindergarten next to the Cordova school to see and to hear what they have been enduring in the days of Purim with all its celebrations. This has disturbed and dealt a blow to the inhabitants. Zidan waits for us. The parachutists who are stationed there allow us to go up the stairs which have been guarded and only the kindergarten children and the staff are allowed to ascend. (You are Jews so you can go up).

By the power of the obstinacy and bravery  and secure in their belief that they have right on their side the inhabitants of a nearly deserted neighborhood? Is that how they continue with the project of the  impossible effort to keep this kindergartan going?

On the way home I received a phone call from Mofid that Zidan had been arrested.  He promised to keep us informed. The soldiers said it was because of the videos which he had made during the days of the holiday concerning the behavior of the soldiers there and at the checkpoint of Tarpad. “Is no one allowed to know what is  happening,” he asks. I am not afraid he says and ask us to report this and pass it on. Which is what I am doing.
