Hebron - the violent road to school

The Cordoba school in Hebron in the H2 area (Israeli controlled area) opposite Beit Hadassah.

At least once a day, students from the Cordoba elementary school meet with the settlers and military occupation in Hebron, once when they go to school between 07:00 and 08:00 and once when they return between 11:30 and 12:30.

There are usually peace activists from all over the world, from different groups, to watch. This time a group of Palestinian peace activists who believe in non-violent resistance to the occupation, headed by Issa, decided to accompany the students themselves. It happened yesterday morning after a night of very violent demonstrations by settlers in Tel Rumeida and Gross Square against the despicable murder of the late Or Ansbacher of Tekoa,.

Issa received  a slap from Anat. A complaint was filed with the police. Today international peace activists were already present.

And how does the checkpoint function?

At the top of the stairs is a gate, and a rope is tied to the gate. The other end of the rope is in the hands of the soldiers at the inspection post at the bottom of the stairs. Thus, the soldiers can release the rope and allow the opening of the gate to allow Palestinians to pass through the stairs or leave the rope stretched and the gate closed if they do not allow the Palestinians to go through.

On the window is pasted lists of Palestinians who are allowed to go through the checkpoint.

The police were called and did nothing.
