We were at this CP between 07.30 & 08.30. The vehicles' gate is locked. Palestinian vehicles are waiting, nobody explains the delay. We called the Menashe division headquarter and learned that the lock is out of order. One vehicle with students on their way to an examination leaves. By 09.40 the gate was opened.

The checkpoint is improving every day, fences, more fences, a canopy, inspection windows, a long fenced corridor and other control mechanisms, all this leading us to the unsubstantiated assumption that soon this will be privatized.

A Palestinian woman and we, gaze at the poles that have been built at the checkpoint. I said that they are building the "Tura Castle". She claims that this is the "Dar Al Malak Castle" and we all laugh.

Young children are waiting with their fathers to cross on their way to school. Yesterday they did not attend school because they were told they had to be checked in the inspection facility boot. Today they are waiting again. Today the soldiers are standing next to the shed outside the checkpoint, which is not their usual spot. They return to the checkpoint but don't open the gate. A representative from the Liaison and Coordination Administration, is also there and it appears they have not yet decided what to do. Approximately 30 children are waiting and a commotion begins at 07:30 on the Tura side. Finally the children enter the checkpoint, and as usual they line up to be checked and a soldier inspects their schoolbags. After a few minutes all the children have crossed.
