The innovation of the fenced corridor has reached here as well. The upgrade of this structure of occupation is evidence of a constructive approach. The checkpoint looks to the future.

The heavy rains have left puddles and mud near the yellow iron bar blocking the road; the only way to reach the gate beyond the “security road” and remain dry is in a vehicle.

Last Monday a resident of Anin was not allowed to pass 15 yellow plastic containers because it is a commercial quantity. He had to hide them in bushes nearby. This morning he was allowed but he found only 3. Who’ll return the others to him? Who’ll cover the cost of the theft? Why it was forbidden on Monday and permitted on Thursday? What was the question?

A small group of Palestinians wait to cross the checkpoint. The number of people coming through this agricultural checkpoint, (serving the residents of Anin who have been cut off from their lands by the separation fence), keeps declining. The majority do not get permits to cross the checkpoint, and those who did get a permit can cross here only twice a week between 07.00am to 15.30pm. Their lands and groves are neglected or abandoned, thereby making them even poorer, and even more frustrated.
