Morning

06:00 – 07:45

06:00 – Reihan-Barta’a Checkpoint

In the upper parking lot, there are many workers and automobiles. The exit from the checkpoint is moving at a slower pace than usual.  In the lower parking lot, there is a very long line.  At the entrance to the terminal, there is also a long pause in the flow of traffic because army vehicles are passing on the same road.  Inside the terminal, six inspection windows are functioning.

06:45 – Anin Checkpoint

The checkpoint was opened on time, before we arrived.  Coming toward us people are people who are going out to the olive harvest.  There are many men and women and five tractors. One woman, who exits on a donkey, turns to us and tells us that her husband died and that they won’t give permission for her son to go out to the olive harvest.  She has to harvest alone and she is afraid.

07:05 – Shaked-Tura Checkpoint

The checkpoint is supposed to be open at 06:30, but opened with a 10 minute delay.  We meet people on the way who passed through the checkpoint and one of them complains that they didn’t allow them to take more than 5 pita breads with them, which  caused a delay in the inspection.

07:15

Most of the workers are already through. Now people from the seamline zone pass.  Cars pass in two directions. Pupils pass through quickly to Tura.  Older students pass through to Jenin.
