Afternoon
מסלול המכוניות במחסום קלנדיה

Right there, on the right traveled by the vehicles, next to the concrete embankment in front of the dirt pile, right there she fell in her own blood, right there she lost her life – the woman shot by the security guards at the checkpoint on Wednesday morning.

Palestinians who witnessed the event, and those who heard about it from the witnesses, said:

-She wasn’t from here (Qalandiya), she was from Jericho.

-She lay there for an hour, maybe more, until the ambulance came and took her.

-She came in order to die.

-After they shot her, they placed a knife next to her.

-It’s a fruit knife, not a knife to stab anyone.

-They yelled at her not to proceed but she doesn’t hear very well and maybe she heard them and couldn’t understand.

-Why kill? They could push her, and not kill.

A security guard who was not present at the time of the event said the woman walked forth, took a large knife out of her sleeveinfo-icon, and waved it at the security guards, they shot one bullet at her that hit her leg. The woman died of loss of blood.

I don’t know whether there was a knife or not, but I do know that this was another execution, and I know that if any of the many armed personnel present were to place a tourniquet on the wounded leg, it is most likely that the woman would not be dead.

What I also know is that this woman too passes under the radar of the Israeli public’s awareness.

My photo was taken from afar, for it is scary – very scary – to walk over there. Anyone doing so is risking their life.
