South Hebron Hills

The Meitar checkpoint operating smoothly and by 07.00 most of the labourers had passed; there were two buses for families visiting prisoners.  Abda checkpoint was open, Al Fawwar, Dura, were manned by the Border Police, the Sheep Crossing and Yatta were manned by the "blue" (civil) police and Beth Hagai and the checkpoints at the entrances to Hebron staffed by the IDF. NS reports that the village of Shuyukh between Hebron and Halhul was also stafed by the IDF.

On Route 317 the illegal settlement of Susiya has completed the preparation of a large tract of land for building and from Palestinian Susiya on the hillside you can see more buildings in process of erection.  Azam tells us that one of the settlersregularly enters the Palestinian village with his sheep. Initially he was masked but now he manages with just a large hat. He threatened to shoot Azam, who managed to film him together with Nasser te representative of Btselem. However they did not manage to photograph is face, thanks to the hat!  Of such things are heroes made!
