Morning

Beit Iba

09:15

The checkpoint is almost empty of pedestrians.  They do not inspect vehicles at the entrance, nor do they check people.  At the exit, they do check:  people go through the metal detector and vehicles are thoroughly inspected.  A line forms.  There is an extra lane for vehicles at the exit, intended for buses and humanitarian cases.  A woman in a wheelchair goes through the checkpoint. On our way to Beit Iba, we approached the new checkpoint next to Shave Shomron, connecting Jenin and Nablus.  According to the soldiers, we understand that they are letting through, without inspection, all the Palestinian vehicles but are not allowing the passage of Israeli vehicles.
