Ar-Ram: 3 detaineesinfo-icon at the checkpoint
(for having bypassed through an alternative route), released very
soon after we inquired. We checked the alternative route opposite
the old Sunny 2000. Quite a few Palestinians were marching towards
Jerusalem.

Qalandya North: A long pedestrian queue, as well as of cars. CP
commander O. immediately asked us to step back, in order not to
"disturb" their work. He claimed that our presence always
causes a disturbance among the Palestinians. Palestinians who were
not equipped with the appropriate documents were all sent back, but
a basketball team on their way to play a game in Ramallah passed,
after the captain deposited a list of the players at the
checkpoint. We met a young man near Atarot, who had been arrested 2
weeks ago, following the shooting incident. We were invited by his
family, and listened to his story: 6 days confinement in Beit El
followed by another 6 days in Ofer Camp. He claims to have no idea
why he was arrested - the army did not even interrogate him. But he
counted his blessings: 12 days are a "short" confinement.
He was released at night time, as is the norm (and against the
law).
