On our way, there was a mobile border
police checkpoint, stopping cars and pedestrians at random and
checking IDs. The check took only a few minutes. A few men were
detained, and stood in the blazing sun. Ironically, the border
policemen were very concerned when it came to us, telling us not to
be too long in the sun... In Abu-Dis, the little gate is open. Lots
of traffic on both sides, and some stands, selling sweets, fruits
etc. The border police is not checking the passers, only harassing
the drivers with orders where to park. Along the wall, we see
occasional people climbing and crossing the wall. Next to the gas
station, about 20 men run and jump over the wall eastward. border
police is momentarily away.

Wadi-Nar: The container checkpoint is one of the two checkpoints
comprising Wadi-Nar checkpoint. IDs are checked, of pedestrians,
car passengers and drivers. The border policemen sit in their jeep,
and keep the Palestinians at a safe distance. It seems that the
border policemen are writing down details of the IDs and returning
them right away. No one is refused passage, but all those passing
here, will probably be checked again in the other Wadi-Nar
checkpoint, about 2 km. away.

In summary, no deviations from regular checkpoint routine.
