At the roundabout in Ras-el-Amud was a
jeep, and one person waiting on the side. Neither were there when
we drove back some 40 minutes later. 3 labourers at the gas station
in Abu Dis were waiting for their IDs which apparently were taken
from them at Ras-el-Amud and supposed to be returned where they
were seen waiting (3-4 kilometers away). The wall is practically
impassable exept for agile kids at the unwired end. The main road
is almost deserted, and at the top of the hill, by the open gate,
few people are going in or out. A young man told us that from early
morning till about miday, the gate was closed, tear gas was fired,
children did not go to school. "You should have been here at 6
AM".
