Huwwara, North & South, Beit-Furik, Monday,17.1.2005, AM Observers: Alona C, Analine K, Tal H (reporting) Tapuah/ Zaatra junction 17 cars waiting. No detaineesinfo-icon in the barbed-wire enclosed area on the hill.Huwwara south The stall market in the taxi parking area is bustling, crowrds of passengers coming and going by taxi. The commander is efficient and people go through fast outside the turnstile installation. A soldier and a military policewoman check papers fast and without a hostile attitude. Two detainees are released after a telephone check within 15 minutes.Huwwara north Here too traffic is flowing fast, through the turnstiles. 2 detainees. Because of the recent police stories and the fact that there are few of us, we choose not to enter into conversations with the soldiers, and since nobody called us over to the detainees, we kept our distance. We were glad to see a table for unloading the belongings going through the x-ray check.Beit-Furik – quiet and empty. On our way back – 6 cars at the Tapuah/Zaatra junction.
