Huwwara, Beit-Furik, Sarra, Wednesday, 19.1.2005, AM Observers: Hanna A, Tushka K, Ilana H (reporting) We reached Huwwara close to 8.00. Sparse traffic in both directions. The horrific turnstiles are operating at the north checkpoint, but not at the south. The Palestinians go through relatively rapidly to the left of the checkpoint.From there we drove to Beit Furik. Sparse traffic, and turnstiles. Although tomorrow is the beginning of Id-el-Adha, an important family-oriented holiday, we did not see large numbers of people. No detainees.On the way back we passed the checkpoint by Sarra. Two soldiers at a dismal checkpoint without a roof, checking cars coming into the village from Nablus.At 11.00 or so we left on our way back.
