Jubara – Saturday 1/1/05 PMObservers – Tami P. Dalia R., Einav K, guest Karin L., a student at Ecole de Paris, who writes her dissertation on Checkpoints.12:30 When we arrived from Taibe on our way to Jubara an army jeep was blocking the way not allowing anyone in. Upon our request the driver presented the General Warrant in which was written that the area was off limits. So off we went around and around and drove back to Kfar Saba and entered the territories from Kalkilya – it was wide open and straight to Beit Iba (see separate report).Later we drove back via Jubara and tried to enter the village. Once again we asked for, and got the warrant. The soldiers claim that the permission was given only to residents of the settlements. Of course you can't argue if its Saturday and most of the settlers are observant Jews and don’t travel anyway. It seems that this is a way to avoid Israeli Arabs to enter Israel. We returned at 16:00. The show in this Absurd Theatre is going on.
