We saw a jeep push a large coment block into the middle of the road (the sides of which were covered with mounds of earth), effectively stopping any vehicles from passing. After a minute a UN car was stopped; another minute or two saw an ambulance stopped. The driver said that they were to take a patient to Ramallah hospital for dialysis. We phoned Na'ama, aide to Ronny Numa of the Benyamin District Command. Meanwhile, the ambulance's medical team had brought the dialysis patient to the ambulance in a wheel-chair. After about 20 minutes 3 jeeps appeared, held a consultation, and two left. The soldiers of the third jeep whispered that "she" had said the ambulance must be let through - and effortlessy pushed the cement block aside - and drove off. How long before it was back blocking the road? Who knows.
