About 200 people were standing crowded together waiting for checking, those out of line were climbing and slipping over the dusty slope, and a soldier was shouting out instructions. We Immediately called army humanitarian aid to complain about the hectic situation . Ayalon from Humanitarian answered and listened politely but didn't sound helpful, suggested that they contact the commander and advice him to instruct the soldiers to let women ,elderly, children, and the handicapped pass quickly and without checking and I told him that this approach worked well last Saturday. After about 10 minutes the soldiers in fact did adopt our recommended approach.I stayed near the people on south side and many people approached to ask for help. Some of them were pleading; some others were furiously demanding our help.I made a lot of phonecalls .Moked and army humanitarian helped in two cases:The first one was when a truck driver transporting stones to Nablus was denied passage even though he had the permit with all his details valid and correct but without the placque number on it. I called moked and they said that this was a general problem. The central command does not imprint plaque numbers on the permits given and those vehicles were denied passage at checkpoints. The second case was to return a confiscated ID of a young man. The ID had been confiscated early this morning because of bad behaviour.
