When we arrived, traffic was very sparse. 3 border police (1 woman, 2 men) checked anyone climbing over the wall. Only Blue ID's and doctors were allowed through. The streets were practically empty. A transit driver told us that he cannot return home because there is a BP jeep down the road checking transit drivers and confiscating cars with yellow registration plates driven by drivers with green or orange ID's. The drivers and cars are turned over to the police station in Ma'ale Adumim. We crossed back. An old man (age 75) claimed he had a doctor's appointment, but was denied passage. A man whose papers were taken early in the morning was waiting. Half an hour later a jeep arrived with the commanding officer. We intervened for the old man, and he was allowed through. The man waiting for his papers explained the situation to the officer, who immediately tracked the papers and returned them. The BP's are part of a replacement company, just there until next Thursday. While the officer was there, many people who had been waiting to cross-over climbed over the wall. Some were checked, and others just slipped through.
