The checkpoint appears to be under complete curfew. As we approach it on foot, two border policemen driving towards Jerusalem stop to chat with us for some minutes in a pleasant and friendly manner.A few cars try to enter Jerusalem, but they are turned back. A father with three young children and a Blue ID is not allowed through. The officer is a volunteer. At 7:15 the new shift arrives composed of 8 border policemen. The Commander of the checkpoint, Amid Halabee, asks us politely to stand by the electricity pole far from the checkpoint. Again and again he request this from us, always in a very polite manner. Finally we leave.
