Za'tara (Tapuah)

9:00 We leave from the train station in Rosh Hayin.

9:30 Tapuah junction - Apart from two soldiers at the bus stop there are no signs of the army. We drive on towards G'uris.

The entrance to G'uris has been blocked by rocks lately, so an improvised winding path leading from the road to the village has been used instead. Well, from now on this shortcut is also blocked. A deep hole dug into the path prevents vehicles from passing. Yes, the army really makes good use of its "dwindling" resources. We reach G'uris through Burka, meaning a ten minute extra drive.

10:00 The women's club at G'uris. Few women are waiting for us. The rest arrive one by one. Bella is absent today due to a medical checkup. Because of her absence we cannot divide the participants into groups according their levels of English. We will have to do it next week. The women split into random groups, half of them go to the English class and half join Sara's yoga lesson. After 45 minutes the groups change. The atmosphere is very pleasant. A group of girls, 11 grade pupils, excel in English. Evidently, the teaching methods at the local school are successful. At the end of the lesson a few women ask to learn Hebrew as well. All in all, 27 women participate in the activities which end at 11:30.

12:00 Tapuah junction. 8-9 soldiers all wearing their best uniforms are crossing the road to the bus stop. We see a female soldier in the watch tower.

12:45 We return to Rosh HaAyin.
