Morning

Despite the reports of disturbances in West Bank towns, in Huwwara and Beit Furik it’s business as usual and the children are on their way to school.

6:20 Azzun Atma:

About 30 Palestinians are waiting. The checkpoint is functioning at a mediocre pace. The soldiers were quick to distance us from the checkpoint but it was still possible to view the goings-on.

Near the square that leads to the settlement of Oranit there has been a car accident. An ambulance and police vehicle are near an overturned car. A number of handcuffed Palestinians are sitting at the side of the road. (Perhaps the “illegals” may make an escape attempt?)

Shomron crossing: There are no police at the exit from Israel.

7:00 Za’tara/Tapuach: Border police are at the checkpoints. They do not disturb the traffic.

Yitzhar/Burin Checkpoints:There is no IDF activity.

7:25 Beit Furik: There are no soldiers

Awarta: The yellow arm still blocks passage.

7:35 Huwwara: The checkpoint is not staffed.

On the road up to the Bracha settlement, there is a soldier.

8:00 Za’tara/Tapuach: Unmanned.

Shomron crossing: Traffic as usual.
