Morning

10:10  Hars.  We saw many children playing in the street and asked – don’t they have school?  There was also a group of women standing in an alley, conversing.  Overall, the village is quiet – shops closed, even the grocerys.

Many olive groves along the way – a lovely landscape – too bad this is “a country that eats you alive…”

10:20  Qira.  The village is quiet and deserted.  We drove straight to the women’s club.  Only a few women had come.  They told us the teachers are striking because they haven’t  been paid (due to the funds Israel is holding back), so many mothers have been forced to state home to take care of their children and can’t come to the club – too bad!  That also explains the many children wandering around Hars aimlessly.

We held classes in spite of the small attendance, English and yoga.  The participants said they were very pleased, as were we – in fact, since the class was small I was able to work with them on the yoga more carefully and seriously.  Harriet felt similarly in the English class.

12:15  Jatta.  We drove by the women’s club – not a soul.  We saw two little girls on the way dressed in red like two dolls, walking alone, ??.hand in hand – whither

All the shops are closed, except for one grocery.  Deserted and sad.  But clean.

12:30  Jama’in.  Not a soul – completely deserted.

12:35  Marda.  Located below Ariel.  A lovely village.
