Morning

05:00  We arrived early to see whether the amazing new procedures are actually being implemented.

And in fact – all five inspection booths are open and people go through happily smiling.

Toward 06:00 the line grew to the size we were familiar with in the past, those at 05:00 AM.

Here’s an explanation – During the morning almost 2700 people cross here at Qalandiya – laborers, children, the sick.  Three revolving gatesinfo-icon and five inspection booths are insufficient to deal with the congestion.

The situation is very clear, and so is the policy.

It will be like that during Ramadan as well.

The people on site want to work efficiently and rapidly to assist the people crossing, but there are questions of policy, so…

We went home, thinking we’ll see next week what the laborers have learned from the new procedures.
