Morning

Bethlehem– Checkpoint 300, 6:40 am: five stations open for checking. They say many are still waiting to pass. The people seem to come in waves. There are 20 people in each line. They enter. There is a few minutes lull, then many pour out to line up again. The women admit they pass quickly in their special line.  Everyone did enter by 7:20.

One of the guards stood chatting in an intimate way at a turn style with a girl soldier on duty, so that no one would stand in that line to be checked. I directed people to go that line, and so he moved away. The guard also smoked with a policeman standing next to him.  No reaction to my admonition.
