Morning

Qalandiya - 6:10: We arrived at Qalandiya.  The lines were very long but moving. The soldier in charge said it was always busiest from 5:00 to 7:00.    It is still taking over an hour to go through this checkpoint as it must accommodate people from a wide periphery  An additional X-ray machine, more staffing and opening additional checkpoints might be solutions as the situation is extremely difficult and continues to be even more so as time passes

Anata - 7:00: We arrived at Anata at 7:00.  Both pedestrian and vehicular traffic were moving well.  The soldier we spoke to said that the new crossing should be open by September. We were appalled by the filth in the area- although thismay be  the responsibility of the city,  not  the army.
