Azon

7:20 a.m.

There is no one crossing.  We arrived a little late so that we can see how the children's crossing to school works.

The west to east gate is barred by slalom and there is approximately a two minute wait.  There is a similar wait in the opposite direction too.

Za'atra

7:55 a.m.

There are 8 vehicles in the queue.  On the way to Za'atra we checked Marda, which was open, and Zeita which was closed.

Huwwara

8:00 a.m.

A commercial vehicle trying to cross to Nablus was held up and this caused a long jam.  Commercial vehicles are not permitted to cross at Huwwara.

On the way to the roadblock we didn't come across any Border Police snap roadblocks.  We saw a few military jeeps busy patrolling.  We didn't see them stopping any vehicles on the way.

On the whole, the roadblock functions efficiently, without causing any particular hold ups.

Za'atra (on the way back)

8:30 a.m.

There are 24 vehicles in the queue.  The army does not seem really able to get it to work properly.  It is an awkward and unnecessary roadblock.
