14:15 Eliyahu Checkpoint:
We see no detainees, and the vehicles are going through the gate without problems. A short way beyond the checkpoint we join a long line of vehicles that continues all the way through Nebi Elias. This is due to work being done on the road.
The main entrance to Azzun is blocked with an earth and boulder barrier across the road. The long winding road entrance to the village from the west seemed to be open.
14:45 The checkpoint before Deir Sharraf:
A bus coming from the village is checked before being allowed through. All other vehicles pass through in both directions without any problem and without being checked.
Vehicles are going through the checkpoint freely without being checked in both directions. There is one lane in each direction with 'spikes' at the passage-ways. After a few minutes there was a line of about 6 vehicles in the lane going in. The soldier motions to each car to go through. It's not clear why the cars are stopping; could it be out of habit, or because of the 'spikes'?
There is no line; there are very few cars at the checkpoint. One vehicle stood at the side and was being checked.
