Deir Sharaf, Wed 24.6.09, Afternoon

The way to Qalqiliya is no different than on other days. Azzun is open to the road but fenced in threateningly by barber wire from all sides .On the hill opposite Qedumim there is a lone house in isolation and opposite an unclear vision of a tent without people. The stench sends us to the checkpoint at Deir Sharaf. Cars pass without stopping. At the side of the post a police car stands without employment. We rushed off because of the stench.
