Maqam Sheikh Abu Zarayed
An impressive and well-tended Maqam, maintenance by the villagers of Yasouf and Iskaka, inside the nature reserve of Alonei Tapuach. The site is located between the settler-colonies of Tapuach and Rechelim. From these settler-colonies and their outposts, gangs come out time and again to vandalize Palestinian property in the villages and fields. In one of these actions, the mosque of Yasouf village was set afire. The struggle to maintain Maqam Sheikh Abu Zarayed under such circumstances is both symbolically and realistically charged.
