More than 200 people crowd next to the fenced corridor to the upper terminal entrance. The checkpoint is closed! It’s training time! The DCO didn’t know when the checkpoint would open. People say they’ve been waiting about an hour. Soldiers in a military vehicle who were also waiting said the exercise will be over within 15 minutes. People are tired after a day of work, they crowd at the checkpoint, it’s hot, unpleasant, they’re even too tired to complain.

All the improvements here make the megalomaniac occupation more ridiculous than efficient. Each time we arrive to the checkpoints we find another road sign, traffic light, fence, arrows and what not.

We were at this CP between 07.30 & 08.30. The vehicles' gate is locked. Palestinian vehicles are waiting, nobody explains the delay. We called the Menashe division headquarter and learned that the lock is out of order. One vehicle with students on their way to an examination leaves. By 09.40 the gate was opened.

שוטרי מג"ב מגיעים בזמן ופותחים את השער עבור שמונת האנשים העוברים בקביעות ועוד אדם אחד. האחרון מתבקש לרוקן את התרמיל שלו ולנער כל פריט לבוש. האישור שלו תקף ליום אחד, אך מתוכן התרמיל שלו עולה שהוא מתכוון להישאר יותר. התוצאה: הוא ישאיר את התרמיל ממזרח למחסום, בצד הגדה המערבית, והוא יחצה מערבה לאזור התפר בלי התרמיל.
