An old women support by a cane got out from among the group of men and had proceeded determinately towards the soldiers, this is what they call "a checkpoint break-in". She ignored regulations, and didn't present her ID nor did she arrive from the women's zone. Despite her slow pace, she passed right by them while looking towards her destination.

A woman carrying bags in her right hand, a baby in her left and her two elder children before and behind her was taken out from a vehicle and was sent to the pedestrians' checkpoint. She stumbled slowly towards the other side of the checkpoint. She is one of the many that aren't permitted to pass the checkpoint by vehicle, because their personal status doesn't comply with the rules of the checkpoint.

Hana Abu Heikhal, from the Tel Rumeida neighborhood, sits next to her burned car. It is suspected that settlers set the fire for the fifth time. Now she has started a hunger strike because she no longer knows what to do.

Were Hana Abu Heikhal Jewish she would have been entitled to a tax-free car and a handicapped sticker so she could park close to her home, but she’s not Jewish, and she lives too close to the settlers of Tel Rumeida so her car isn’t allowed to park next to her house. Every day she has to go up and down the hill and walk half a kilometer to her car and back. Her car and that of her neighbors park in a wadi where a path marked as restricted to settlers runs.

Three women with permits want to cross to visit someone who’s given birth, bringing plastic bags with clothes – gifts to the new born. They’re not permitted to take two of the bags through. The explanation: “Clothing isn’t permitted through this checkpoint.” The answer from the DCO: “We’ll handle it. You don’t have to call us again.” Bottom line – the gate closed, the bags were returned. Another explanation: “Merchandise isn’t permitted through this checkpoint.”
