This is the roof of B.'s house. From the roof one can see the "disputed building". His plan to build a second floor was authorized by the Hebron municipality. But the settlers got furious and are against this plan. The IDF stopped the construction of the second floor. Now 'B' is furious.

Buses carrying Moslem tourists from India. But they’re not allowed to ascend the stairs to the plaza. They walk around to the Moslem half of the sidewalk divided along its entire length. They enter the tomb of the Patriarch Abraham through the Moslem entrance. Later they’ll return by the same route, descend broken stairs that only they can use, go back to the buses to continue their journey through the Holy Land.

The parking lot in Kiryat Arba was filled with soldiers, police, jeeps and bulldozers. We decided to follow the convoy arriving on Road 60 near to the turnoff to Road 356. More jeeps, police, etc. were waiting. They had come to demolish several sheds which had been built for cattle belonging to two brothers from the Rajabi family of Hebron. The owners said that they had received warning that the army was coming to destroy their buildings. He also said that they had built on agricultural lands and I wanted to know if cows were not also agricultural in the broad sense of the word.

At the CP where the road splits left to Jewish Tel Rumeida and right to the Palestinian side and H1, parks an enormous garbage truck with Palestinian license plates and was therefore barred from travelling on that road, reserved for Jews. (TIPH asserted that the garbage trucks regularly travel on that street). The soldiers insisted that the truck would have to reverse itself all the way down. But agreed to our pleas to permit the truck, when it was finally released, to do a horse-shoe turn at the crossroads rather than reversing down the dangerous hill. As we all waited, the telephones to the DCO never stopped ringing, the Hebron Municipality rang its workers and the soldiers and we too tried our sources. Finally, the truck was permitted to continue on its way and turned to the right to the Palestinian side.
