Along the separation wall there is another parallel separation wall (shorter than the first) with an open gate at the center. It is through this gate that women who did not meet the age requirement for crossing to Jerusalem during the month of Ramadan were sent back.

The soldier and security guard spent 45 minutes making inquiries and running to and from the ambulance to their post while a Palestinian ambulance transferring the body of a deceased man from Gaza. The man had not survived an operation in a Nablus Hospital. The Palestinian ambulance and an Israeli ambulance at the other side of the checkpoint, were being detained yseveral meters away from each other until all doubt was lifted, the body a was found to be "Kosher", he wasn't, god forbid, a terrorist or a ticking bomb. Eventually all the obstructions were removed and the remains could return home. (MW report October 9.2011)

A resident of Gaza suffering from heart disease was on his way to surgery in a hospital at Nablus. The man had been taken in and out of ambulances three times that day, from one stretcher to the other, detached from his Israeli oxygen tank and immediately, so that his lungs won't collapse, connected to the Palestinian one, he and his documents that were inspected at Erez checkpoint- were rummaged once again at Qalandiya while he lay helpless, exposed to the burning sun and vehicle fumes, and hoping for the best. In a rough assessment it would appear that ten hours had passed from the moment he left his house and until he was admitted at the hospital. (MW report 31.07.11pm)

"Mahmud had been arrested"….. "this child is thirteen" " Palestinians told me that couple of days ago, soldiers came out of the checkpoint area, they caught Mahmud and handcuffed him, then they dragged and beat him: "They hit him too hard" (said one man). (MW report 03.07.2011pm Qalandiya)
