For personal reasons we left in the early afternoon.  At this time of day there is little activity and little traffic.  We visited Hermesh Checkpoint where there were no soldiers present and traffic moved through without delay.

We continued to Yaabed Checkpoint where we saw an unusual sight: a group of women soldiers crossed leisurely through the checkpoint towards a transport vehicle that was waiting for them.  There was no delay since there was little traffic.

We drove to Barta’a Checkpoint.  The parking lots were filled with cars.  Mohammed, Hani, and their little brother were waiting for us with their thermoses of coffee.   The drivers were waiting for passengers, including Hadi’s disabled father who used to run a kiosk under the shed.   He got entangled in all kinds of issues, but now he is OK and working.  On our way to the seamline zone we saw a group of women – apparently the seamstresses – going down the sleeveinfo-icon to the terminal on their way home to the West Bank.

Tura Checkpoint was quiet and dirty as usual.  We discovered that the garbage from the IDF - the salad cartons, and turquoise colored plastic bags had climbed all the way up to the tobacco field that is more than a meter high above the road.
