06:55 Sheikh Saed

The checkpoint is exceptionally empty. We tried to ask some people crossing what is the reason for this, but got no convincing explanation. The thin traffic of people is flowing.

07:55 Sawahrra El-Sharkiye

The checkpoint is empty except of the soldiers. A few vehicles are parked on the Israeli side of the checkpoint.

On the way - the pishapash was empty.

Zeitim passage -
the traffic of people was very thin.

09:00 Wadi Nar

We came from the direction of Abu Dis. We asked the soldiers' permission to go through the checkpoint with the car towards the road leading to Keidar (in order to take the road back), and they agreed.

The tin roof of the pedestrian passageway was taken off while we were there. We asked about it and got the explanation that " they are improving the checkpoint" and whithin a few weeks "it will be like Hawarra" building -wise. Since as far as we know, this is one of the checkpoints who are about to be taken off as part of the agreement to make things easier for the population, the investment in the checkpoint seems odd to us, especially in an area where pedestrians go through (and those are few in this checkoint, in our experience).

The traffic moved smoothly, with almost no vehicles being detained (it seems that the soldiers were busy with the excitiement around the building in the checkoint).
