Arriving to the checkpoint we were
pleased to find the waiting area calm and not crowded and lanes
advancing quickly . The soldiers were checking calmly and
efficiently and were friendly and cooperative with us. Some
soldiers spoke Arabic -- very useful in Huwwara.

South side: All women were let through after very brief ID check.
Most men passed quickly, though they were within the restricted age
of 16-40. Not all men passed but the soldiers were applying proper
judgment and no humanitarian case was denied.

North side: Things here were different, because papers and bags
were checked thoroughly and the lines advanced slowly. Palestinian
men 16-40 coming from Nablus with no permit didn't have much chance
to pass. All women passed. During our shift all vehicles and
ambulances passed quickly from both sides, ambulances with sirens
not even stopped.
