People crossing in a quiet and orderly way, checking is efficient and fast. Pupils crossing almost without any checks.
We too are spared the confrontations of the last few weeks.
7:15 Silwan
We came from below, following the American road. A vehicle carrying settlers drove in front of us up the very steep road, stopping from time to time for passengers to climb in or alight. A guard descends to check the safety of his passengers. Each stop was in the middle of the road, seriously disturbing the flow of traffic.
Near the Givati parking lot a sign forbids further driving down the road, but a few vehicles drive in the forbidden direction.
There was no checkpoint and the street was peaceful.
Zeitim Crossing
Three lanes are open and lines are very short. Crossing takes a couple of minutes.
Despite the quiet procedure, shouting and scolding are frequently heard on the loudspeakers.
