15:20 Only one booth for checking the workers permits was operational (from among about 5 booths). The line of returning workers was growing longer by the minute, but they were going through reasonably quickly.
At 15:23 the trnstile was locked as the inner hall was full of workers; about 30 men were stuck outside in the sun. When the inner hall had emptied out more men were allowed through the turnstile until it was locked again. The usual waiting time was between 6 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile outside the crowd of men was growing as every few minutes the carousel was locked to allow the inner hall to empty out. The men graciously allowed one women who arrived at the checkpoint to go through ahead of them. The crowd outside was growing all the time and the men were getting angry that the carousel wasn't opened. They told us they were coming home earlier than usual because of Ramadan.
