Afternoon

12:00 At the entrance to Azun there is a military jeep. The yellow arm is open.

We turned to Falamiya. We were early and entered the shed near the water well. The man responsible for the water pump and his grandson were sitting there. He is 82 years old. Has been responsible for the pump for 56 years. At night either he or his grandson sleep in the shed. All the villages in the region get water from this well.

12:50 The military vehicle arrives and the gatesinfo-icon are opened.

Leaving: 5 tractors, on each of which there are 3-4 Palestinians, and 12 pedestrians.

Entering: One private car.

The vehicles are loaded with za’ater and lemons.

We ask how one works in the field when one fasts. “When one believes it is not difficult to fast” one of them answers.

We meet a nice soldier who speaks Arabic, is very polite and even sees to it that we drink water.

13:10 Everybody passes and the gatesinfo-icon are closed.

13:20 – The military vehicle is already here. A young man is waiting for his brother. The traffic is sparse. Two tractors and one truck come out.
We drive to Azun. At Z.’s shop there is a new outdoor stove - taboun. All the merchandise has been transferred to his wife’s shop and he is happy with the change he made in his life.

When we leave the military vehicle is still there.

Finally we make a short visit at the plant nursery near Habla.
