Early morning, at this moment in this season, the valley is at its most beautiful. Flowers of all colours at the sides of the road and spread widely. A sight that overwhelms one anew every time.

Army vehicles drive southward in a long line. It seems the tail end of the large army exercise of recent weeks. The roads are open, little traffic.

A visit to 3 families in Makhul. Helping in the many endless jobs in the house. A routine day of animal births, deaths, pasture, that passes in relative calm.

The subject that occupies shepherds of the area at present is getting permission from the Israeli authorities to clean the sheep sheds with Schaufel, something that must be done regularly to each shed for the sake of the flocks’ health. Until now they have received permission any without problems, but this time they were refused on the grounds that their buildings are not in order.

Without mincing words, they claim that they are not prepared to regularize[?] the building which, as long as it is in order, they cannot do any action. [???] This means a serious health hazard to the flocks of the whole area – Hadidiah, Makhul and others.

When have we heard lately of regularizing[?] a building in the valley? Attempts to help lead to a bureaucratic struggle necessitating employing a busy lawyer, and meanwhile Allah in heaven doesn’t exactly help.
