Around Hebron
The title of Yehuda Amichai’s last poetry book was “Open, Closed, Open”

This was my feeling today. The hero is again the bulldozer.

Except for them, no soldiers in sight – the Israeli army closes off areas with barriers or ‘gatesinfo-icon’ in order to prevent friction between soldiers and Palestinian civilians.

This is what it looks like, open.

Bani Na’im and Yatta are encircled.  Coming from all directions – one can only travel the internal roads and we could not enter and see whether barriers also block movement between the villages themselves.

Deir Razah, Abdeh, Karmeh, Samo’a, Dahariya, Beit ‘Anoun – all closed.

Entrance to Hebron from Road 35 – open.

Sa’ir – open.

Tarkumiya – open.

We are told that people are not playing Pokemon Go in Palestine yet… The Occupation has won.
