Hebron

All is quiet though we were worried because of the strike of the prisoners.

There is no unusual movement of the army anywhere.

Abed at the souvenir shop has visitors from Sweden. Abed tells us of the week that the Palestinians were in curfew because of the Passover holiday. He lives directly opposite the Cave of the Patriarchs. When he wanted to go from his home to visit relatives who liveabout 200 metre away he and his wife were detained for an hour and a half though he is very well known to the soldiers. He told us that relatively there had been few Jewish tourists this year and only about 50 buses during the entire holiday period.

The sign which pierces our eyes if that which is hanging on the House of Contention which is called the House of Peace by the settlers. The locals call it according to the name of the real owner of the house. Even though the house is disguised to look like an army base a few families live there keeping a low profile. And because of that the Palestinians in the area have  their movements curtailed.

Now the sign reads that the dream is to be realized and soon 17 flats will be sold.
