Afternoon

15:35 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

A family from Tura is on its way to Daher el Malec to visit relatives. All their bags are removed from the car and checked, and ten minutes later they continue on their way. Only a few people are returning to the West Bank this time of day.

A lot of work is being done on the road – widening it and adding bases for street lights – Israel is establishing itself in the seam zone.

16:00 Barta'a Rehan Checkpoint

Hundreds of laborers, most of them young, are returning to the West Bank, and because of their large numbers a long line has formed next to the single carousel. They ask us why the authorities don’t allow them to cross through the shorter and wider road, since, after all, there is no examination at the terminal.

Students and families with young children and shopping bags are returning from Jenin.
