Afternoon

Anata:  Rapid movement through checkpoint in both directions.

Azariah: Not as busy as usual – perhaps because of the heat.  Stores preparing for Ramadan.

En route to Wadi Nar:  There are bulldozers at work in the area from which the Bedouin were evacuated.  Not clear what is to be done in the area.  In the tiny enclave where there are still Bedouin, little has changed.

Isawiya:  As in the past months, there is free passage to and from Isawiya to French Hill and to the road leading to Maaleh Adumim.  The passageway to Mt. Scopus is still blocked.  However, something new has been added.  Whereas in the past few months, cars could not get through but there was enough open space for motorcycles or strollers, the area is now somewhat cordoned off with tape!.  Anyone who wanted to pass could easily move the tape, but it’s just one more obstacle.
