Dura-Al Fawwar Junction, Hakvasim (sheep) Junction, Sansana (Meitar Crossing), South Hebron Hills
Sunday: as usual unbelievably overcrowded. A lot of labourers, with or without permits try to circumvent the checkpoint. The police on the Israeli side only stop-search the younger men, the older ones pass without problems. By 08:00 people are still hurrying to catch transports to work. The little market near the checking sleeve does a roaring trade.
Route 60: it seems that everyone is on the road to work or errands because the road is full of cars, Israeli and Palestinians, who are competing to see who will get killed first! Overtaking and turning without signalling and in places where it is really dangerous. Dahariya and Abda checkpoints were open, as was Dura. Al Fuwwar was blocked (army) and so was the sheep crossing and the village of Shweiki near Halhul (army). All very illogical and tomorrow the situation may be totally different. Return journey: uneventful except for the traffic!
