Hebron
We saw an army truck carrying concrete blocks for building barricades and checkpoints.
There are changes at the checkpoint at the beginning of the Kapisha neighborhood. The Hebron municaplity is still working on the roads there. In the meantime the road leading to Givat Ha’avot is being tarred.
Yesterday we read (thank you Paula) that the inspectors of the Civil Administration had tried to destroy this kindergarten (in the picture) on the pretext that it was endangering the Cave of the Patriarchs and that it had not received building permits. It is located at the very end of the worshipers' road above a border police post. I tried to get to the kindergarten but the Border Police detained me. I had no desire for confrontation, so I only photographed and did not make a solidarity visit. Next time we'll come another way.
At the checkpoint opposite Abed next to the Cave of the Patriarchs, we met a large group of tourists from America calling them selves People for Compawwion. I explained to them about Machsomwatch for about ten minutes and we received a round of applause.
The settlers attempt to decorate the ugliness which they have created. Flower pots in bloom.
In the picture: The checkpoint at the entrance to the neighborhood of Avraham Avinu (Abraham Our Father).
At the top of Shuhada Street we met Zidan Sharabati near his house. We tried to persuade him to file a complaint with the police about stealing a bicycle from his home. He does not believe that the police will do anything and it's a waste of his time. He shows us another video in which the hero "Ofer Ohana" attacks the female director of the Cordoba school Nura Nasser at seven in the morning. Ofer apparently saw the video in which the soldiers did not let her up the stairs to school and decided to harass her.
There is not a day that can be said that nothing happened in Hebron.
A place of evil happenings.
