Morning

Tura – Shaked Checkpoint, 07:25 – 07:40

The checkpoint is busy and people are crossing.  The last groups of people are crossing through and this is evidently a sign that the checkpoint opened on time and that crossing took place without delay.  Cars and people are moving in both directions without being delayed.

Barta'a Reihan Checkpoint, 07:55 – 08:15

Here, too the checkpoint is busy and people are crossing, but not as quickly.  We timed two people crossing and it took them 15 and 25 minutes.  We could see that there were three windows operating inside the terminal.

A person asked us to help a family whose four sons all had valid permits but who were all refused entry into Israel within the past few days with no explanation.  They now have no way of earning a living.  We crossed to the other side of the checkpoint to meet then and took down their names and details in order to help.  We continued on to the next checkpoint.

Yaabed – Dotan Checkpoint 08:35 – 08:40

As we have already described, the checkpoint position has been renovated.  The position is empty and there are only soldiers in the tower.  Traffic is flowing and drivers move slowly through the concrete barriers.
