Morning

‘Azzun following the attack; nothing visible in the streets.  The gate is open.

At A.’s home they said that after the attack many soldiers were in the streets.  The didn’t arrest anyone.  The attacker surrendered to the Palestinian Authority.  But they were worried we’d leave the house when children were returning from school.  We were concerned they’d be aggressive toward the children.  We went out with no problems.

Habla checkpoint – 13:00.  We arrived early.  A male and female soldier on site said the checkpoint doesn’t open in the afternoon, only in the morning and evening.

After a while a Palestinian arrived who wanted to return to Qalqilya; he said it opens at 13:15.  And in fact a military vehicle showed up carrying the soldiers who operate the crossing.  The gate opened.  The soldiers who misled us were stationed there to prevent people without permits from crossing.  They showed us damage to the security installation.  Wires cut, etc.
