Morning

The Meitar checkpoint crowded as usual on Sunday, but slightly less so than usual. Route 60 us very busy with Palestinian and Israeli vehicles - both the Id al Fitr festival and Shavuot fall this week. All the usual checkpoints are staffed: Dahariya, Al Fawwar, Dura by Border Police...the only exception is Abda whcih for once was open. The sheep crossing and Beit Hagai under IDF command butin all cases the traffic moves fairly smoothly.  We noted many pedestrians endangering their lives at the sides of the busy highway, no doubt doing to Dura and Hebron to shop for  Id al Fitr. On our way back we see the frightening remains of a really bad accident and at the Mitar checkpoint workers are already returning home although it's barely noon.  Happy holidays - for Shavuot the West Bank will be under closureinfo-icon....
