Morning

We arrived at 5.20 and the lines were well inside the shed and remained so for the entire morning.

The humanitarian gate was opened  but anyone entering found there was no one there to allow them further entrance. Truth to tell there was no necessity and the lines even when they stretched out a bit soon emptied out into the window area.

The baigel seller is back  and also a little boy selling…or rather trying to sell his cigarettes.

We joined the line about 7.00  and were on the bus by 7.30

Anyone seeing the scene this morning would not be able to imagine  the miserable sights of previous Sundays. If only we could believe that at least it will remain so and not return to  the  pressure and fighting  that we have seen there over the years.  But I have very strong doubts.

Deborah has been with both Chana Stein and myself in the last months and now is returning for an unspecified period to Switzerland. She has been a great help in bolstering the presence of Jerusalemites.
